Many thanks to Jerry Towey for delivering a 4 week cycle safety course to our 6th class! This week Jerry was accompanied by Gerry Butler and they brought all the children down around Ballinrobe to put their new skills into practice!
Well done to both our Boys and Girls Cumann na mBunscol teams. Both teams had comprehensive wins over Claremorris and Kiltimagh to win the Division 1 South/East section of Mayo.
Both teams will now play in the county semi final in May. Maith sibh! Ms Roche’s 5th class recently received a letter from President Michael D Higgins to congratulate them on their awards in the VEX IQ Robotics National Final in Cork and to wish them all the best in the upcoming World Championships in Dallas, Texas. The VEX IQ Robotics World Championship takes place between the 1st - 3rd May 2024

Thanks to their teachers for preparing their classes so well for Confirmation & to all the staff who have helped with the preparations. Thanks to the the choir, Ms Canney & John Lane who give of their time so generously. School will close tomorrow for the Easter holidays and re-open on Monday, April 8th. Cycling is a great form of exercise, and it's fun. There are lots of health benefits associated with regular cycling. It is really important that we learn how to cycle safely. 6th class really enjoyed the first of their lessons today.
Well done to both our boys and girls basketball teams who both won the Lakeside Lakers Basketball Blitz last Thursday in Lakeside Centre, Ballinrobe! The girls defeated the Neale N.S. in the final whilst the boys defeated an amalgamated team of Partry & Cloonliffen. Many thanks to Lakeside Lakers for sponsoring the blitz. Well done to all the children who entered the Scor competitions recently - you all did extremely well!
We would also like to wish the very best of luck to the children who will perform in the Solo Singing, Ballad Group & Recitation competitions this weekend at the County Final, Castlebar. Ms.Roche and Mr. Flannelly's 5th class have qualified for the VEX IQ World Championship Robotics competition in Dallas, Texas. We are looking for support to get us to Dallas and represent Mayo and Ireland on the world stage. This will be an opportunity of a lifetime for these children we appreciate your support!
